Mia Topalian began appearing onstage at at the age of four. Having been chosen as one of the two “Future Stars of Broadway” she was given the opportunity to perform with “A Chorus Line’s” Donna Mckechnie at Detroit City Music Hall in Downtown Detroit directed by Meg Paul of “Movin’ Out.”
Moving from Interlochen Arts Academy through Carnegie Mellon Precollege, she went on to graduate with honors from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Having studied with Playwrights Horizons Theater School and Stonestreet Advanced Film Acting Studio.
Creating original theatrical productions mounting at venues such as Joe’s Pub and Ars Nova as well as working on independent features films and web projects, Mia stayed busy—having the chance to act alongside big personalities such as Artie Pasquale and the late Taylor Negron. She has been featured in the Hollywood International Film Festival selection as the female lead in romantic comedy, Hibiscus. She has also appeared in “All My Children," “Criminal Minds,” and a teen version of Nikki Glaser in her Comedy Central Series, "Not Safe w/ Nikki Glaser." This last year alone she wrote and starred in her own pilot, “Matching,” appeared in leading roles in two features alongside Clare Kramer (Bring it On, Buffy) & Bailey Chase (Twin Peaks, Saving Grace), and appeared on hit show, Marvel’s Runaways, as Young Leslie.
When she’s not in front of the camera, she works for professional authors, photographers, performers, and directors. She has assisted the resident director of “Big Bang Theory” Mark Cendrowski, on new pilots at CBS, Warner Bros, Universal, and Fox, most frequently CBS’s “The Odd Couple” featuring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon. She has been coaching younger actors both privately and through a top acting studio in Los Angeles. Passing along the Hollywood advantage to those who live outside the LA area is her one of her greatest passions.
